To those celebrating Lunar Chinese New Year, cheers to a second round of new beginnings!
What a year 2026 has been. And yes, it’s only February. My family managed to accelerate into a new beginning by the end of January 2026, which is a miracle in itself. The testimony comes not only from the fast speed but also from how it went against the friction of all odds or the acceleration drag I mentioned in my previous post.
Of course, the enemy wouldn’t give up without a fight and hand us the promised land on a platter. Hence, we were caught in a whirlwind of attacks. It has been a tough fight of giants in the promised land — to name two, a car accident and a laptop crash happened in uncanny ways and at crucial times. Yet, I felt angels were there to cushion the attacks because they could have been worse.
Then, there is another issue that I am still trusting God to open the Red Sea for. It wasn’t an issue until this year, when the scales seemed to fall from my eyes, and I saw my mistake for not planning it earlier. It has been robbing my joy of entering the promised land. Then I saw how the stress comes from my lack of faith in trusting God and trying to take control of the steering wheel. I spent my energy, through my worries, trying to wrest control from God while keeping my eyes on the road, thinking I know best.
One night, I had a vision of a door swinging wide open. Then I remembered God assuring me that no one can shut the door He had opened.
“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.”
Revelation 3:8 (NKJV)
And in the same vision of an open door, a horse galloped out. Then, a revelation came, it’s the year of the horse in 2026 for the Chinese and Koreans!
I thought of horse racing, with the starting gates swinging wide open and the horse racing out to the finishing line, galloping in acceleration!
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize?
1 Corinthians 9:24 (NKJV)
Run in such a way that you may obtain it.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 (NKJV)
So when the door or gate hasn’t opened yet, trying to gallop, or even just moving in the direction I want—inside that tiny starting stall only leaves me bruised from knocking into the walls.
So we need to trust that God will open the door at the right time, we just need to prepare and get ready. Then, as we run, are we running on track to the prize with eternal value and not be distracted by worldly desires that will steer us off track? Or will we burden ourselves with worries and things not of God, making us too tired to put on the good fight and finish the race well?
Today, will you allow God to hold the reins and follow His lead, or completely ignore His guidance and run off course? Or come off the bridle — that is, the horse is not travelling well, and the jockey has to work hard to encourage it, indicating the horse’s lack of responsiveness?
May we be the good and faithful servant who finishes the race well in faith.
